From the day we met Selina, she ws a breath of fresh air. I will never forget our first meeting, where she stated "before I can help your baby girl, I have to get to know you first."

We sat and spoke for an hour and the exchange felt so warm and genuine. Selina came into our lives shortly after we received our daughter's autism diagnosis. She was patient, kind and worked diligently to meet Madison at her skill level, while also building her up.

She was a pivotal piece of our daugther's development by teaching her to identify, boosting her confidence and increasing her independence. Madison is now 4 and the blueprint that Selina left on our family has aided us in ensuring that Madison is advocated for and receives the best services possible.

Selina was so amazing with our beautiful daughter that one we had our son Kareem, we requested her to be his DI as well. Selina has become family and has continued to be a great teacher to our children.

Selina has worked with my son for about 5 years and has played a critical role in his developmental growth throughout. My son was diagnosed severely autistic at the age of 2 and Selina started working with him as his DI, focusing on his key challenges while building on his strengths. Her evaluation was quite astute and she was the key guiding force to all other therapists (OT, PT, Speech) on how to systematically help my son.

In a few weeks, Selina established herself as my son's best friend, who was non-verbal then. The trust she built with him, helped us handle all transitions over the years - from a toddler to an elementary school child, who eventually transitioned to general ed successfully. This year he is graduating to middle school and requires minimal support-all thanks to a strong foundation he was able to build in the first few early years of his development.

Her biggest impact was helping us parent a kid with special needs by navigating us to the changing needs of our child, dealing with shifting support services from state and district and most importantly, changing our perspective to be positive and motivated parents.
Selina's distinctiveness is her empathy and passion for kids with special needs, relentlessly working with them and looking at a kid's growth as a marathon and not a sprint. We have been lucky to have her as our coach!

Selina Albert came to my home to help my 2 year old, who was speech delayed and had fine and gross motor skill delays. She came 2-3 times per week, prepared with her own "new" excisitng toys, books and puzzles for my son to help him develop functional language skills. He went from pointing and grunting to saying "I want milk".

What I love most about Selina is that she taught me basic parenting skills that I was simply unaware of, in terms of raising a toddler along with a newborn at that time.

My son continued with developmental pre-school, which Selina recommended. My son was de-classified before kindergarten, as he had caught up with his peers.

Today my son is about to graduate 8th grade and is on the honor roll at his school.

The foundation that Selina gave for my son, together with the parenting skills she suggested, helped us to get us to where we are today.
